Article the
The article there that could be translated into ‘is’ or ‘it’, but no always, because the article is used in several contexts. The absence or misuse the article is very possible misunderstanding.
Example:
Jack: look! There is a girl standing ner the library. She is cute, isn’t she?
John: I know the girl. She is my sister’s collegue
In the example above, if the girl in question is called John by Jack which is near the library, he must use the article. When John uses the article a and be agirl, then a girl was not the girl who called Jack, but another girl
Article a-an
Article a/an is located before the noun. Article a/an only me ‘modify’ (explain) singular noun. a/an used to:
1.      Make a general statement (general): one representing entirely
 Example: A whale is a mammal, = Whale’s are mammal’s
               A puppy is a young dog, = pupies are young dogs.
2.      Refer to a single noun as the subject or object of a sentence that has not been mentioned in the previous sentence.
Example: I saw a boy in the street. He is wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts
A girl is standing near the cashier. The girl looks very busy with her shopping
Some nouns beginning with a consonant but vowel sounds, so used is an article.
Example: an hour (1 hour). Some nouns beginning with vowels but sound consonant, so the article is used is a example: a house
a uniform
a home
a university
a half
a union
when the noun has an adjective or a noun functioning as an adjective, use of article a/an is determined by the sound of the adjective. Or noun which serves as the adjective.
Example:
An umbrella- a white umbrella
An apple- a red apple
A boy- an honest boy
A student- a university student
